Metro Dayton Hikers

5 miles, 2 hours. Take I-75 north from Dayton past I-70. Exit at US40. Travel east on US40 to dam. Note that US40 turns right (south) onto Brown School Road. Use entrance 2000 US40 at the west end of dam. This entrance is on the south (right) side of US 40. Meet at the parking lot at the Blue Heron shelter.

    • “ The trails were unbelievably beautiful after the snowstorm yesterday. It was like a fairyland with ice and snow clinging to all the trees above the trail. Walking in the snow is harder than normal, but it is better exercise. The ground was not slick, and the hiking seemed safe with respect to avoiding falls. Nice group of hikers to talk with. ”
