Join Sharon M and members of the Miami Valley Outdoor Club for a brisk Tuesday hike at Taylorsville MetroPark. This fast-paced hike through hilly wooded terrain and along the Great Miami River lasts about an hour. Hike begins promptly at 4:10 so that everyone can finish before dark. Meet at the parking lot of the CCC shelter.
About Taylorsville MetroPark: Taylorsville MetroPark contains exceptional examples of mature upland forest with many spring wildflowers, second growth woodlands, natural succession areas, a few aging pine stands, a few managed grasslands, and extensive floodplain forests along the Great Miami River Corridor.
Tom, you needed to continue east on Route 40 past the dam. The road curves to the North and the parking lot is on the left hand side. If you cross into the Miami County line you have gone too far. Sorry to have missed you.
“ I showed up at 4 PM but no one was there. Walked the bike-way for awhile (5 miles). Guess I went to the wrong place. Saw numerous trees cut down by beaver. Noisy I-70 nearby and shooting range contributed to noise. ”
“ Excellent conditioning hike. The regulars are really improving their hiking endurance even with the muddy trail conditions. Good Job! We are also enjoying a few new comers to the group. Hope to see you all next week.
Happy Trails. ”
