Join Lindy and members of the Miami Valley Outdoor Club for a moderately paced evening hike that will last 1 - 1.5 hours. If you are familiar with the park and want a faster walk, come anyway and take a longer route.

We will start promptly at 4:30.

Take the National Rd. entrance and follow the park road past the lake taking a right at each intersection. Meet at the Patty Shelter parking lot near restrooms and info kiosk.

    Possible change in parking place. I went to Englewood this morning and the upper gate off Rt 40 was locked because of flooding. Try that entrance first this evening. If it is still closed, we will meet at the former riding stable parking lot. Continue past the main entrance going east (away from dam). Turn left at the traffic light onto Frederick Pike. Take the next left which a two-way road into the park. The riding stable is about a mile into the park on the left. -Lindy (host)

A longtime Dayton person enjoyed Englewood MetroPark for the first time, and her guest from the Washington D.C. area got a taste of Ohio woodlands. Our D.C. guest spotted and caught a little snake, one of the first of the season, for a photo shoot. And as we hiked we got to hear about our two necomers' adventures as nature interns in Oregon and Montana. ”
