This would be a bird-watching and critter-viewing outing. There is an easy two-mile path around the lake. A boardwalk and viewing tower extend into the marsh. A nearby area adjacent to the Little Miami River is planted with corn and sunflowers to attract non-acquatic birds.

Directions:
We will meet at the marsh parking lot. Take Hwy 725 east to Hwy 42. Turn right (south). Go 1.7 miles and turn left on Roxanna New Burlington Road. (This is the first left after the highway divides, there is a small brown sign on the right.) Go straight (Houston Road intersects on your left) for 1.5 miles to Pence Jones Road (Frontier Campgrounds sign). Turn right and go .3 miles then turn right at the first road, which leads to the parking lot. The distance is about 11 miles from I675 and Wilmington Pike.

Nearest public toilets are at the target range. Take Houston Road for .5 miles to the target range. Turn right and go all the way down the hill to the parking lot. There is a Porta Potty and facilities in the building.

No dogs.

There may be some mud and possibly mosquitos.
