Join Sharon M and members of the Miami Valley Outdoor Club for a brisk Tuesday hike at Taylorsville MetroPark. This is a fast-paced hike through hilly wooded terrain and along the Great Miami River. The Hike begins promptly at 4:20pm. We will be completing a modified orange loop (3.5 miles) in less then 1 hour. Meet at the parking lot near the CCC shelter off Route 40. We will be completing a 2nd modified loop on the orange trail starting around 5:20pm. Meeting at the CCC shelter. This loop will be at a moderate pace. Generally taking about 70-75 minutes to complete the 3.4 mile loop. These are conditioning hikes. The first loop is a very fast paced hike that is for conditioning. If you want to a walk a slower paced hike, please come at 5:20.
About Taylorsville MetroPark: Taylorsville MetroPark contains exceptional examples of mature upland forest with many spring wildflowers, second growth woodlands, natural succession areas, a few aging pine stands, a few managed grasslands, and extensive floodplain forests along the Great Miami River Corridor.

“ Recent heavy rains have caused flooding of portions of the trail and sliperry conditions on the trail. Pace of hiking was still very quick and the mud and rerouting around flooded areas made the course more challenging. ”
