Hike from the Germantown Metropark Conservancy Road trailhead to Highway 725 and return. The first .75 miles is easy and flat. We then enter the forest and the trail for the next 1.5 miles changes to single-file with numerous moderate hills and switchbacks. The trail then descends into a wild-flower-filled field to the highway. We will stop at the Cedar Ridge campsite for our break. Leashed dogs welcome. There is a latrine at the trailhead and at the campsite.

Take Highway 725 west through Germantown. Just past a small strip mall turn right at the first Metropark sign, which will be Creek Road. At the top of the hill make a sharp left onto Conservancy Road. The trailhead is a short distance on the right.
