my bucket list has the Grand Canyon on it and since I am still in my 30's and have little kids who are net yet in sports, I figured now is the time to do it.
Anyway, I want to get a group together that would possibly meet on a ... Read moremonthly basis and start to plan something for next year.
If you would be interested, financially able, physically able and fun to be around, Please show that you are interested and I will follow with more details. I am thinking that our first "meeting" would be in October-ish.
I am also open to other locations in the USA. I am not fully committed to the GC (yet). Yosemite, Colorado, etc. -

Meet at Overnight Parking for Twin Valley Backpacking Trail at 9688 Eby Road, Germantown, Ohio. Hike the orange trail which varies in terrain. Will visit Hopewell Earthworks - Carlisle Fort. Carlisle Fort features remnants of earthen ... Read morewalls built around 2000 years ago by the Hopewell culture. It is currently listed in the National Register of Hstoric Places. Would like to start early in the morning and hike slow. Pack lunch and shoes suitable for crossing Twin Creek. As a bonus, we will visit an abandoned 1920's era crane and remains of suspension bridge, but to do so, we will cross the creek (knee deep). If this sounds like fun... post up! -
