Hello there! I wanted to join a group of individuals interested in being outside and hiking. Also enjoy tree and plant identification, birdwatching, helping other beginners like me to remain active, and the occasional chance at taking a great photo!
Do you enjoy backpacking or day hiking or both?
Day hiking most of the time, but also some one or two night backpacking trips.
What do you enjoy most about backpacking or day hiking?
Enjoy being outdoors--although a sunny spring or fall day rates particularly high on my list.
Where are your favorite areas for hiking in the Dayton area?
Sugarcreek, Cox Arboretum
Where are your favorite areas for backpacking or hiking outside of the Dayton area?
Hocking Hills; Red River Gorge; Red Rocks outside of Denver; Alaska--Denali and the Kenai peninsula. All of the above and more, especially when combined with river, lake or ocean activities.
