Introduction
The opportunity to hike with others. Usually I have been going alone. I earlier joined the Cincinnati group but it was not convenient. Now that this local group exists, I would like to participate.
Do you enjoy backpacking or day hiking or both?
I have only been doing day hiking. I would be open to some camping.
What do you enjoy most about backpacking or day hiking?
The fresh air and scenery -- enjoying myself vs. going fast (not that I can). Also, the challenge of doing a few extra miles.
Where are your favorite areas for hiking in the Dayton area?
Germantown and Twin Creek. Yeck Park is a nice place to go for a shorter hike. I am a Metro Parks volunteer, so I periodically hike to and check the Twin Valley Trail campsites.
Where are your favorite areas for backpacking or hiking outside of the Dayton area?
I have not done much outside this area, but had a challenging time at Great Seal Park and East Fork Park. Very much enjoyed Iceland and New Zealand.
