I would be interested as well. A problem that I've encountered is that a nice, slower, long hike can be hard to find unless we link a few loops at local parks. I know exactly how you feel. A nice 4-5 hour hike, 6-8 miles, stops, breaks, cup of coffee, take some pics, ect. Thats exactly what I'm into. These trips for me usually consist of scouting opportunities for future fly fishing opportunities - you know, finding that place waaayyyyy off the beaten path. And, always alone. Anyhow, count me in. I've got some family with a property in S OH that we've linked with ATV trails. Its about a 7+ mile loop that goes up and over 2 "mountains"?, thru an amazing meadow, down a natural slate spring creek, and around a 4 yr old Mead strip cut. You can see for miles. Its beautiful come spring. If anybody would be interested I'd love to have company later this spring. Its about an 1.5 hour drive from here, but they/we do have a cabin and running water. Plus a fire pit. So, there would always be the ability to have a little camp food after the trip. Keep me in mind. I'm so looking forward for the weather to break so I can make that loop. Parts can be strenuous (up and over the 2 mts/ridges). But, its probably exactly what your looking for. It will be a great one day trip.

I just wanted to update everyone. I started this discussion before I went Snow Tubing on February 6th at Perfect North. That day kinda changed my immediate plans for a while. I messed up my Left Knee. I have a couple of injured ligaments and 2 small fractures. Good news is.... No surgery. However I will be in Physical Therapy for 6-8 weeks. I do hope to get back out on the trail as soon as I can and safely as I can. But this is me I am talking about LOL.

I am definitely interested in slower-paced hikes. I prefer to just kind of lose myself in the experience and enjoy the journey. Unfortunately, my day-to-day obligations don't leave me very much time to do much hiking, but when I can sneak a hike in, I would love to join a more relaxed pace group. Plus, I need to get my endurance up by the summer. I'm planning a trip to the Black Hills. I hope your knee isn't causing you too much discomfort and wish you a full and speedy recovery. I look forward to meeting you out on the trail soon.
