Wilderness First Aid Training
May 7 – 9, 2010 This weekend class prepares you to handle serious backcountry emergencies. Wilderness First Aid is a comprehensive series of lessons in how to react and respond in remote, life threatening situations. Diagnosis and care for injuries and illnesses occurring outside the 911 response envelope. Lots of active hands-on work in classroom and outdoor scenarios keeps it fun! When: Friday evening – Sunday morning Friday 6PM – 9:30PM Indoor classroom sessions Saturday 8AM – 9PM Indoor classroom sessions including outdoor scenarios Sunday 8:30AM – ~11:30AM Indoor classroom, with a practical exam and written test You must attend all class sessions to complete this course and obtain your certification. Location: Camp Craig Program Building Milford Bring: Bring something for note-taking. Dress for the weather, parts of this class will be held outside. Rain gear is an excellent idea, also a headlight for nighttime operations. Showers are available. Bunks (2 per room) are provided but bring a sleeping bag. Meals will be served. Cost: $130 includes a training manual and reference materials. Also includes all meals through Sunday breakfast, with sleeping accommodations in the bunkrooms.
